Pushing Boundaries in Western Kenya

Working across western Kenya, Lot 20 Coffee continues to challenge convention through relentless experimentation and close producer collaboration, led by founder Sidney Kibet. Over the past three seasons, the team has refined fermentation techniques—exploring cultivated yeasts, fruit co-ferments, and carefully controlled fungal cultures to unlock new dimensions of sweetness and structure.

Even through volatile harvests marked by unpredictable weather, Lot 20 has expanded into new counties, strengthened farmer partnerships, and reinforced full traceability across its growing network.

Training, Innovation, and Regional Investment

In counties such as Bomet and Migori, Lot 20 invests heavily in farmer training and infrastructure support. With many producers lacking access to pulping equipment, the team has championed high-quality natural processing as a practical and profitable alternative.

At Rongo washing station, innovation remains constant, with ongoing experimentation in fermentation helping to elevate sweetness, clarity, and complexity across both washed and anaerobic lots.

Introducing Kenya Decaf

Produced in partnership with Omwani Coffee Company, this fully traceable Kenyan decaf begins with a vibrant AA-grade washed lot from Kericho. The coffee is decaffeinated in Germany using the natural Ethyl Acetate method derived from sugarcane, preserving structure and flavour integrity.

The result is a cup defined by sweet citrus brightness, gentle florals, and a clean, composed finish—proof that decaf can deliver character and clarity without compromise.

While we will always have fresh coffee from your favourite origin, individual coffees change as stocks run out. We replace them with equally delicious coffees, allowing subscribers to explore a variety of outstanding beans throughout the year.

Our sourcing celebrates the diversity of Kenyas regions, producers, varietals, and processing methods—ensuring you always receive the best of Kenyan coffee.
